Attendance

Grades
  • Teachers determine student’s grades including the weighting of individual assignments and tests.
  • Letter grades of A, B, C, D, E are given for all subjects EXCEPT Art, Music, Library, P.E., and Computer, which use P, G, S, I, N codes.
10
Codes
  • All Teachers will use the codes shown on the next slide in reporting grades. These codes act as place holders until the assignment is completed. They do not affect the grade.

11
Codes
  • EX – exempt or excused. Student does not need to complete the assignment.
  • AB – Student was absent when the assignment was collected.
  • NHI – the assignment was not handed in (student was present when assignment was collected.)
  • M – Medical. Assignment is due later.
  • R – Redo. Assignment was returned to the student to redo and the student has not handed it back to the teacher.

My Password Doesn’t Work

  • Your tuition is delinquent
21
Default Screen
22
"On the left of the..."
  • On the left of the screen, there is a column called “Exp.” This column is only for the computer to order the subjects.
  • “Last Week” and “This Week” indicates the student’s attendance. See the Legend at the bottom of the screen for the attendance codes. Generally the most common codes are “T” for tardy, and “A” for absent.
  • You will notice AM and PM attendance listed. This corresponds to morning and afternoon. If a student leaves before 2:00 pm, the student is absent for the PM attendance. If the student is absent for the entire day, the student is absent for both AM and PM attendance. The Attendance Totals at the bottom right of the screen will reflect 2 periods absent if a student is absent for the entire day.
23
  Attendance Codes       Attendance Totals
24
All of your Student’s subjects are listed under “Course”
25
Student’s teachers are listed next to the course they teach. If you wish to email them, just click on their name.
26
Columns T1, T2, T3, and Y1 indicate the final grade as of today for Trimesters 1, 2, 3, and the entire year. Notice that T3 will read “0” until grades are entered for that trimester.
27
If you click on a numerical average, a detailed listing of all assignments for that subject will display.
28

29
Note: It is important to read how many points an assignment is worth to determine how much it influences the final grade.
  • For example:
  • 9/05/03 Worksheet 1 Grade: A (5/5=100%)
  • 9/15/03 Test 1     Grade: C+ (80/100=80%)
  • In this case, the worksheet is only worth 5 pts, while the test is worth 100 pts. The average would be 85/105 = 81% = C+
  •    Not
  •    (100% + 80%) / 2 = 90% = B+
